M2 Systems Biology
SPECIALTY DIRECTOR: Hedi Soula
We are proposing a new multidisciplinary specialty in systems biology. This specialty is designed to satisfy the increasing demand for interactions between biology and other disciplines, such as computing and mathematics, to respond to the following major challenges: “big data” in health, new health technologies and, more generally, high-throughput approaches in life sciences.
This specialty is based around a series of specific course units enabling students to develop skills and knowledge in computing (programming, development, simulation) and mathematics (modeling, formalism, prediction) applied to the contexts of integrative biology and physiology.
The key element of this specialty is the development of dual competence in biology and systems biology, ensuring that students are autonomous in terms of modeling and data integration in the domain of biomedicine at the end of their training and are, therefore, directly employable by companies and research laboratories.
